Chris Frazer Smith is an acclaimed portrait and people photographer and director whose work has taken him around the world for a wide range of high-profile clients. Working predominantly in portraiture and people-focused storytelling, he produces both commissioned and self-initiated photography and film, shooting on location and in the studio.Narrative and attention to detail are central to his practice, supported by a strong sense of art direction that enables close collaboration with creative teams across advertising agencies, publishers, record labels, and design studios. While undertaking major commercial projects, Chris places particular emphasis on non-commissioned work, with his portfolios showcasing deeply personal projects in both still and moving image.Chris has received numerous international accolades, including the prestigious Lucie International Photographer of the Year Award, the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize, BJP Portrait of Britain, and awards from the Association of Photographers, Communication Arts, American Photography, The Portrait Salon, the British Photography Awards (Portrait Prize), the British Journal of Photography, Campaign Magazine, Creative Review, The Masters Cup, Applied Arts, One Eyeland, and Photo District News.
