Enzo Prina (b. 1997) is a contemporary moiré and kinetic-optical artist based in Salt Lake City, Utah. His creative path began in early childhood, winning his first art contest at the age of five and developing an early fascination with visual expression. Throughout his youth he explored oil painting, watercolor, filmmaking, ceramics, and digital media, experiences that shaped his sense of composition and texture. During high school he first encountered moiré patterns—overlapping line structures that create movement and depth—an encounter that would later become the foundation of his signature style. After returning from a two-year mission in South America, Prina briefly pursued higher education before shifting his focus toward creative entrepreneurship, working in graphic design, branding, and content creation. In 2024, following the passing of his grandfather, he returned to fine art with renewed purpose, dedicating himself full-time to developing a unique visual language that merges digital precision with hand-crafted detail. His work blends vector-generated line arrays with ink, resin, and canvas to create dynamic surfaces that appear to move as the viewer shifts position, generating optical rhythms, wave-like distortions, and shimmering illusions. Prina’s pieces—released in limited-edition metal, paper, and canvas formats—challenge the boundary between static imagery and living motion, inviting viewers to engage physically with perception itself. Today, he continues to push the moiré technique into new territories of scale, material, and interactivity, establishing himself as a powerful emerging voice in contemporary Op-Art and digital-analog experimentation.
